PS5, PS5 Pro & Xbox Series X|S Prices & PC Release Date
GTA 6 costs the exact same $79.99 price on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. You don't have to pay extra for the PS5 Pro version, even though it features improved graphics and smoother frame rates.
When is GTA 6 Coming to PC, and How Much Will It Cost?
Just like with GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar is releasing the console versions first. GTA 6 will not be on PC on November 19, 2026. When it does come to Steam and the Rockstar Games Launcher in late 2027 or 2028, it is expected to cost the standard $79.99 price.

When GTA 5 came out on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, millions of people bought discs that they could trade in, lend to friends, or sell on eBay. For GTA 6, that won't be possible.
Rockstar is selling the physical edition as a code-in-box package. When you open a retail case bought from Amazon, Best Buy, or GameStop, you get the plastic case, official cover art, and a printed download code, but no game disc.
Code-in-Box Explained
When you buy a boxed copy, you get the collector case and cover artwork. Inside the case is a printed voucher with a digital code to claim on PlayStation Network or Xbox Live.
Collector's Edition: Rumors vs Confirmed Facts
Rockstar Games has only confirmed two editions so far: Standard and Ultimate. Rumors of a $150 to $250 collector's box with statues and maps are just fan-made concepts and internet rumors. In 2013, GTA 5 had a $149.99 Collector's Edition with a security bag, cap, and blueprint map. If Rockstar announces a real collector's tier later on, we will update this guide immediately.
GTA 6 vs GTA 5: Price Comparison with Inflation
A lot of players have noticed the jump from GTA 5's $59.99 launch price in 2013 to GTA 6's $79.99 price in 2026. However, when you factor in inflation over those 13 years, $59.99 in 2013 has the exact same buying power as about $81.40 today.
