Prices Across All Consoles ($79.99)

Both Sony and Microsoft have confirmed identical prices for GTA 6. You pay the exact same price no matter which console you play on:

PlayStation 5 Pro: Upgraded Visuals for Free

If you own a PlayStation 5 Pro ($699.99), you get upgraded graphics and smoother gameplay at no extra cost. You pay the same $79.99 as regular PS5 owners, but you get:

  • Smoother 60FPS Gameplay: Play with realistic lighting and reflections (ray tracing) running at a smooth 60 frames per second.
  • Sharper Visuals (PSSR): Sony's smart image upscaling makes the game look crisper on 4K TVs.
  • Faster Loading: Quicker load times and smoother pop-in as you speed through Vice City.
  • Better View Distance: See buildings, traffic, and crowds further into the distance.
No Special "Pro Edition" Needed

The same GTA 6 game works on both PS5 and PS5 Pro. Your console detects which system you have and turns on the Pro enhancements automatically. You do not need to buy a special Pro version.

Xbox Series X vs Series S

GTA 6 costs the same $79.99 on both Xbox models, but performance differs based on the hardware:

Feature Xbox Series X Xbox Series S
Resolution Up to 4K 1080p to 1440p
Frame Rate 30FPS or 60FPS mode Targeting 30FPS
Ray Tracing Expected in Quality mode Unlikely at launch
Built-in Storage 1TB SSD 512GB SSD
Download Size ~150–200 GB ~100–150 GB (smaller texture pack)

Separate Purchases for PlayStation & Xbox

Buying GTA 6 on one console does not give you access on another:

  • A purchase on PlayStation only works on PlayStation consoles.
  • A purchase on Xbox only works on Xbox consoles (covers both Series X and Series S).
  • When the PC version launches later, it will be a separate purchase on Steam or the Rockstar Games Launcher.

Why is the PC Version Delayed?

Rockstar has a long history of releasing console versions first and bringing the PC version later. This gives the team extra time to optimize the game for hundreds of different computer graphics cards, add advanced visual settings, and build PC anti-cheat protection:

Game Console Release PC Release Wait Time
GTA IV April 29, 2008 December 2, 2008 7 months later
GTA V September 17, 2013 April 14, 2015 19 months later
Red Dead Redemption 2 October 26, 2018 November 5, 2019 12 months later
GTA 6 (Expected) November 19, 2026 Late 2027 or 2028 12 to 18 months later

Expected PC Price

Rockstar has not officially announced the PC price yet. However, based on past releases, GTA 6 on PC is expected to cost the same $79.99 as the console versions. Rockstar has never charged extra for PC versions in the past.

PC Status: Not Coming at Launch

GTA 6 will not be available on PC on November 19, 2026. We will update this page with confirmed PC prices, system requirements, and release dates as soon as Rockstar announces them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is GTA 6 the same price on PS5 and Xbox Series X?

Yes. GTA 6 costs the exact same price on every console: $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Neither console charges a premium.

Does the PS5 Pro version cost more?

No. You pay the standard $79.99 price on both the regular PS5 and the PS5 Pro. All the PS5 Pro upgrades—like smoother 60 frames per second, ray tracing, and sharper visuals—are included automatically at no extra charge.

When will GTA 6 come out on PC, and how much will it cost?

GTA 6 will not be on PC at launch on November 19, 2026. Rockstar is focusing on PS5 and Xbox first. Historically, Rockstar takes 1 to 2 years to release its PC versions (GTA 5 took 19 months, and Red Dead Redemption 2 took 12 months). We expect the PC version in late 2027 or 2028, likely at the same $79.99 price.

If I buy it on PlayStation, can I also play on Xbox?

No. Buying GTA 6 on PlayStation only gives you the PlayStation version. If you want to play on Xbox or PC later, you will have to buy it for that system. However, one Xbox purchase works on both Series X and Series S, and one PlayStation purchase works on both PS5 and PS5 Pro.
